Overview
We are building a pool of qualified Phlebotomy Substitute Instructors to provide both theory and clinical instruction. This position supports coverage needs across Inland Empire campuses when cohorts are in session.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomy Substitute Instructor to join our educational team on a per diem, on-call basis. This role involves delivering high-quality instruction in phlebotomy techniques and procedures to students in various healthcare training programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical and laboratory settings, with the ability to adapt teaching methods for adult learners and students across different health disciplines. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of future healthcare professionals through engaging classroom and practical instruction, utilizing current learning technologies and curriculum materials.
Responsibilities
• Deliver phlebotomy theory and clinical instruction per approved curriculum
• Supervise students during lab and clinical activities
• Maintain accurate attendance and competency documentation
• Ensure compliance with infection control, OSHA, and CDPH standards
Minimum Qualifications (CDPH Required)
• One of the following:
• MD, DO, RN, PA, or LVN license in good standing, OR
• RCP with at least 2 years recent experience, OR
• CPT I or CPT II certification with at least 3 years recent experience
• Knowledge of phlebotomy safety and laboratory regulations
• CDPH approval required prior to teaching
Schedule - Riverside and Victorville
• Theory and clinical assignments vary by cohort
• On-call; activated only when classes are in session
