Overview
All Pro Pathways is hiring a Career Services & Externship Coordinator to support Mission Career College’s allied health programs. This role is responsible for building employer and externship partnerships, coordinating student placements, preparing students and graduates for employment, and maintaining accurate placement and outcomes data.
The ideal candidate is organized, relationship-driven, and comfortable with both student support and employer outreach. This person will work closely with campus leadership, students, graduates, and healthcare employers to reduce externship delays, expand placement opportunities, and strengthen employment outcomes for Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy students.
Key responsibilities
• Develop and maintain relationships with clinics, laboratories, medical offices, and other healthcare employers
• Secure new externship sites and maintain active employer partnerships for student placement and hiring
• Coordinate externship placements based on student readiness, site requirements, scheduling, and capacity
• Track required student documentation, site requirements, placement status, attendance, and completion progress
• Provide students and graduates with resume support, interview preparation, job-search coaching, and professional readiness guidance
• Conduct outreach through calls, email, networking, job fairs, site visits, and employer events
• Organize employer engagement activities such as hiring events, presentations, and on-campus recruitment opportunities
• Maintain accurate records of employer contacts, externship activity, graduate follow-up, and placement outcomes in internal systems
• Support collection and verification of data related to graduate outcomes, placement reporting, and compliance documentation
• Collaborate with academic and campus teams to identify placement needs, resolve issues, and support student success
Qualifications
• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
• 2+ years of experience in career services, externship coordination, student placement, recruiting, workforce development, employer relations, or similar work
• Experience working with healthcare employers, allied health education, or vocational education strongly preferred
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and follow-through skills
• Comfortable with proactive outreach and partnership development
• Strong administrative and data-tracking skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and student information, CRM, or tracking systems
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for local travel
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
